I was born and raised in Los Angeles and spent most of my adult life there, until recently. Growing in up in Southern California in the 80’s 90’s with parents who were hippies turned Jehovah s Witnesses had a huge impact on the way I learned to view the world, and ultimately how I view art. Attending college was never a realistic option, so my early attempts at art were very DIY guerrilla. It wasn’t until my late twenties that I finally attended college where I studied oil painting and eventually received my BA from California State University, Los Angeles. It was there that I was first introduced to the magic of ceramics, and have been dancing with the devil ever since. The contrasting duality of my upbringing plays a huge role in my art process, and the rebellious punk rock attitude of my adolescence is an inescapable part of who I am as an artist. I am currently living and working in Portland, Oregon.
